This lack of competition drives up prices in the wholesale market.\r\n\r\nThis price volatility causes traditional electricity retailers to set high, fixed electricity rates to on-charge their customers.\r\n\r\nThis approach doesn\u2019t encourage energy users to use the abundant renewable energy in our grid, nor does it create an incentive to use less fossil-fuelled energy at peak-times.\r\n\r\nIn the long term, this could mean Australia won\u2019t be able to transition to 100% renewables, leaving Australians dependent on expensive and polluting forms of energy.\r\n\r\n<strong>So how can we encourage Aussies to shift their energy usage to cheaper, greener times?<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<strong>By rewarding them for doing so.<\/strong>\r\n<div class=\"img__wrap\">\r\n\r\n<img class=\" wp-image-38924\" title=\"Flow Power Illustration Sun Lightbulb Rgb\" src=\"https:\/\/flowpower.com.au\/residential\/wp-content\/uploads\/Flow-Power-Illustration-Sun-Lightbulb-RGB.svg\" alt=\"Flow Power Illustration Sun Lightbulb Rgb\" width=\"465\" height=\"349\" \/>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"img__wrap\"><\/div>\r\n<h3>Pay less for doing the right thing<\/h3>\r\nTo encourage energy use during these highly renewable periods (and discourage energy use during fossil-fuelled peak-times), we\u2019ve developed a unique incentive.\r\n\r\nEvery month, Flow Home customers receive an adjusted electricity rate based on their energy habits.
