Our guide will take you through each section on your bill, so you can read your bill with confidence.

1. Invoice details

This is where you’ll find your account details, including your:

  • National Metering Identifier (NMI)
  • account number
  • invoice number
  • invoice issue date, and
  • invoice due date.

It also includes information on:

how to contact Flow Power for any account enquiries, who you can contact if you have complaints about your bill or account, and the contact details of your network distributor (who you should contact in the event of an outage).

2. Your details

This section includes your name and the address your energy bill is for.

3. Amount due this bill

This section summarises exactly how much you need to pay us for this billing period, when it’s due, and includes your current bill amount plus any outstanding fees.

This amount will be debited from your account on the date listed.

4. Compare your plan

Flow Power is legally required to provide you with the details of the Australian Government energy comparison website.

It’s important to remember Flow Home charges are influenced by the wholesale energy market. Standard fixed-rate electricity contracts are very different and will not have a like-for-like comparison.

5. Payment options

If your direct debit fails for any reason, alternative methods of payment are shown here. To set up a new direct debit or for payment support, please reach out to our Customer Success team on 1800 359 797.

1. Important information for customers

This section links you to services related to your bill, such as:

  • interpreter services for people from all linguistic background to communication with us in their preferred spoken language, and
  • hearing services for people who are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment.

It also lists concessions that may be available to you and payment and hardship assistance options.

2. About your plan

This is where you’ll find information about your energy plan, such as:

  • your network tariff type, and
  • your 100% GreenPower offset allocation renewable energy project.
3. Your account balance

This section shows your account balance on the date the invoice was issued, including any balance remaining from previous billing periods.

It’s important to know that any payments made 2 business days prior may not be reflected in the balance shown.

4. Meter reads

Here you’ll find details about how we’ve calculated your bill, according to your smart meter.

It’ll outline the reads we’ve taken from your smart meter for the billing period, which detail your usage amounts in kilowatts per hour (kWh).

Current meter reads may be lower than previous meter reads if you have recently had a smart meter upgrade or meter reset. Meter reads times are shown in AEST.

(A)
A meter read marked with A means it’s an actual read, where the consumption shown is based on an actual reading of your meter..
(S)
A meter read marked S stands for Substitute, meaning your metering company hasn’t been able to read your meter and has given us substitute consumption data
(E)
A meter read marked E stands for Estimated, meaning your metering company hasn’t given us an actual read, so the consumption shown is an estimate based off your past usage patterns.
(F)
A meter read marked F stands for Final Substitute, meaning your metering company hasn’t been able to read your meter and can’t get an actual read for this period. That means that this substitute consumption data is final and will not be replaced.
(NA)
NA – stands for Not Applicable, meaning your current and previous meter reads have not been provided by your meter provider or your distributor.
5. Your energy charges

This section provides an overview of your charges, split by charge type.

It includes:

  • your daily supply charge, which is a fixed daily amount that is charged as part of the metering and distribution services provided by the network distributor that looks after your area,
  • your base rate, inclusive of the benchmark PEA, and
  • your PEA, which is a measurement of how efficient your usage patterns were for the month against the average Flow Power residential energy user.

If you have rooftop solar installed, this section will also include:

  • your feed-in tariff, inclusive of the benchmark Feed-In PEA, and
  • your Feed-In PEA, which is a measurement of how efficient your export patterns were for the month against the average Flow Power residential energy user.
6. Additional charges

This section will cover any additional charges that relate to this billing period. The most common additional charges are move in fees, or late payment fees.

7. Usage and emissions data

Here you’ll find additional information about your usage and emissions, including:

  • your average daily usage in kWh and cost per day for the past 12 months
  • If you have solar, your average feed in tariff cost and usage per day
  • your emissions for this bill, calculated from your recorded usage data., which will be offset by your 100% GreenPower plan, and
  • how your usage compares to households of similar sizes.
