You deserve an electricity plan that recognises the value of smart timed exports – especially during the evening peaks.
That’s why we’re introducing Flow Power’s Happy Hour, designed to help you supercharge your export earnings during peak hours.
Plus, get variable pricing that rewards you for using power when it’s cheaper and greener.
His family shifted use of appliances to the middle of the day, when renewable energy is abundant and prices are low.
1. David set his battery to charge during the cheapest periods of the day, typically around 12-2pm and 3-4am.
2. His family used the Flow Power app to track energy prices and exported stored energy from the battery to the grid during peak periods.
A few small shifts in behaviour resulted in a bill reduction of more than 70%.

The rewards don’t stop at smart-timed exports. With Flow Home, you can also reduce your rate by using more energy during the day, when renewable energy is abundant.
We incentivise using energy when wholesale electricity prices are low and renewable generation is high. By aligning your usage with cheaper, typically more renewable times of day, you could save money on your monthly electricity bill. Even before you factor in Happy Hour exports.
Shifting your energy use to cheaper, greener times benefits you and our shared electricity grid, helping accelerate Australia’s transition to renewable energy.

We use data from your smart meter, which records how much electricity you export to the grid in 5‑minute intervals.
Each export interval is tagged with the exact time it occurred, so we can clearly separate exports that happen during Happy Hour from exports that happen at other times of day.
Your bill then applies the Happy Hour export rate to the energy you exported during that window, and the standard export rate (currently $0c/kWh to exports outside that window.
Yes. You keep full control of your solar and battery system at all times always keep full control of your solar and battery system.
Flow Home doesn’t remotely control your inverter or battery – instead, we give you price signals and a clear Happy Hour window, and you decide how to respond.
If you have a battery or smart inverter, you (or your installer) can set it up so you charge when energy is cheaper and export more during Happy Hour, but all those settings remain in your hands.
No. Flow Home is a month‑to‑month electricity plan with no lock‑in contract and no exit fees.
If you decide Flow Home isn’t right for you, you can switch to another retailer at any time.
We do run a standard credit check when you sign up, but if you change your mind early on you also have a 10‑day cooling‑off period as required under energy regulations.
Outside the Happy Hour export window, your feed‑in tariff is currently $0c/kWh.
That’s because during the middle of the day the grid is often flooded with solar and wholesale prices are low, so your exports aren’t worth much to the system.
By contrast, during Happy Hour, you receive a higher export rate of 45c/kWh, because that’s when your energy is more valuable.
The feed-in rate of 45c/kWh is available to customers in NSW, SA & QLD.
For Victorian customers the rate will be 35c/kWh. Find out more details about VIC’s offer here.

Flow Home does not currently cap the number of kilowatts‑hours you can export during Happy Hour that receive the boosted rate.
That means the total value you earn from Happy Hour depends on:
• How big your solar and battery system is.
• How you choose to configure your system (for example, how much you keep for overnight use vs how much you export).
a. You can see all of this in the Flow Home app:
b. A live or near real‑time view of your household usage when live data is available (typically updating every few seconds via smart meter or Flow Hub).
c. A “Today” view showing how your usage and exports have tracked so far.
d. Historical views of your last 30 days (and beyond) in 5‑minute intervals, including how much you exported and when.
e. An energy forecast for the week ahead, highlighting cheaper and more expensive times so you can plan usage and exports.
f. A PEA dial that shows whether your current behaviour is likely to improve or worsen your monthly Price Efficiency Adjustment.
g. This makes it easy to see how your habits line up with cheaper and more expensive times, and how much of your solar you’re using or exporting.
