PYLONTECH BATTERY SCHEDULING

Lock in a peak export rate and save at other times by charging your battery when wholesale prices are low.

Pylontech solar battery scheduling & setup

This guide explains how to set your Huawei or iStore system (a Huawei hybrid inverter with a LUNA2000 battery) to discharge between 5:30pm and 9:30pm using Time of Use (TOU) mode in the FusionSolar app, so you make the most of Flow Power’s Happy Hour.

This setup is required if you’re participating in Flow Power’s Battery Happy Hour Electricity Plan.

How to set up your battery

Step 1 –
Find out which inverter you have

Your Pylontech battery is paired with a hybrid inverter. Check the inverter’s brand on its label or your installation paperwork. Common ones paired with Pylontech are Deye, Sungrow, GoodWe, SolaX, Sofar and Victron.

Step 2 –
Open your inverter’s app

Download and log into your inverter brand’s app. This is where the battery schedule lives.

Step 3 –
Find the battery Time of Use / charge-discharge schedule

In your inverter’s app, look for the battery Time of Use, or the charge and discharge time settings.

Step 4 –
Set the 5:30pm to 9:30pm discharge window

Set a discharge period from 17:30 to 21:30 so the battery exports during Happy Hour. Save the setting.

Step 5-
(Optional) charge when energy is cheap

If your inverter allows it, set a charge window at a cheaper time so the battery is full before Happy Hour.

Step 6-
Confirm export is enabled and verify

Make sure export is enabled and within your network’s limit (not zero export), and note that battery-to-grid export will not work if you are on a VPP. Between 5:30 and 9:30pm, check your inverter or the Flow Power app: the battery should be discharging and exporting to the grid.

Do I control my own exports?

Yes. You keep full control of your solar and battery system at all times.

Flow Power doesn’t remotely control your inverter or battery. Instead, we give you price signals and a clear export window, and you decide how to respond.

If you have a battery or smart inverter, you (or your installer) can set it up so you charge when energy is cheaper and export more during Happy Hour, but all those settings remain in your hands.
