SIGENERGY BATTERY SCHEDULING

Lock in a peak export rate and save at other times by charging your battery when wholesale prices are low.

Sigenergy solar battery scheduling & setup

This guide explains how to configure your Sigenergy SigenStor inverter and battery system to discharge between 5:30pm and 7:30pm using Time-based Control mode in the mySigen App.

This setup is required if you’re participating in Flow Power’s Happy Hour program.

Pro Wap 1 1

How to setup your battery

Step 1 –
Confirm your inverter & app access

This guide applies to:

  • Sigenergy SigenStor (single-phase or three-phase hybrid inverter)

Paired with Sigenergy battery modules
Using the mySigen App (iOS/Android)

Ensure:

  • Your inverter is online and communicating
  • You have owner-level login access in the mySigen app
  • Your battery shows available state of charge (SOC)

Step 2 –

Set work mode to Time-based Control

  • Open the mySigen App
  • Select your system
  • Go to Energy Management
  • Select Time-based Control mode

Why Time-based Control?

Time-based Control mode allows you to manually set charge and discharge periods.

If your system is operating in Self-consumption mode, it will prioritise powering your home and may not discharge during the Battery Happy Hour window.

Step 3 –

Create the 5:30pm–7:30pm discharge window

Within Time-based Control mode, locate the Schedule settings.

Add a discharge period:

  • Start: 17:30
  • End: 19:30

Set this period to Discharge.

Save settings.

This instructs the battery to discharge during the Battery Happy Hour window.

Step 4 –

Set discharge cut-off SOC

To ensure the battery discharges during the scheduled window:

  • Navigate to Battery Parameters or Advanced Settings
  • Locate Discharge Cut-off SOC (or similar SOC limit setting)
  • Set to a low reserve level appropriate for your needs (commonly 10–20%)

If the discharge cut-off SOC is set too high, the battery may stop discharging before 7:30pm.

Step 5-

Confirm export power settings

Battery discharge does not automatically guarantee grid export. Export may be limited if:

  • Maximum export power is restricted
  • Grid export limit is set to 0 kW
  • DNSP export cap is lower than inverter output
  • Installer-level settings restrict export

Check:

  • Navigate to Grid Settings or Export Power Settings
  • Confirm Maximum power for exporting to grid matches your DNSP approval

Export limits vary by region and connection agreement (commonly 5 kW single phase, but confirm your approval).
If export settings are locked or unavailable, contact your installer.

Step 6-
Verify during Happy Hour

Between 5:30pm–7:30pm:

Open the mySigen App dashboard.

Look for:

  • Battery status showing discharging
  • Grid power showing export (negative grid consumption)
  • Export power greater than 0 kW

If battery is discharging but grid export is 0:

  • Your home load is absorbing all energy
  • Or export is restricted by settings or DNSP limits

Do I control my own exports?

Yes. You keep full control of your solar and battery system at all times.

Flow Home doesn’t remotely control your inverter or battery. Instead, we give you price signals and a clear Happy Hour window, and you decide how to respond.

If you have a battery or smart inverter, you (or your installer) can set it up so you charge when energy is cheaper and export more during Happy Hour, but all those settings remain in your hands.
