You need a Sungrow SH-series hybrid inverter with a compatible Sungrow battery. Download the iSolarCloud app (iOS or Android) or use the web portal, and log in with your owner account.
Log into your plant in iSolarCloud and tap the three dashes at the top right. Select “Device”, then tap “Energy Storage System”. Slide the tab at the top to the left, then select “Settings”, then “Energy Management Parameters”.
Under the Time of Use periods, set a discharge period from 17:30 to 21:30. (You can set up to two Time of Use periods.) This is what pushes the battery to discharge during Happy Hour.
If you also want to top the battery up from the grid at cheaper times, use the “Forced Charging” section just below and set a charge window and target charge SOC%. Note: the battery cannot discharge during a forced charge period, so keep it clear of Happy Hour.
Make sure your reserved (minimum) State of Charge isn’t set so high that the battery stops discharging early. Around 10 to 20% leaves enough to discharge through the whole window.
Make sure export is enabled and within your DNSP export limit (not set to zero export). Battery-to-grid export will not work if you are signed up to a VPP.
Tap “Apply Settings” to save. Between 5:30 and 9:30pm, open the iSolarCloud dashboard – you should see the battery discharging and power exporting to the grid.
