Setting up the Flow Hub

Follow along with this instructional
video to set up your Flow Hub.

1.Start by opening your Flow Power app and turning your mobile data off.
2.Plug the Flow Hub into an outlet near your Wi-Fi router.
3.Wait for the yellow cloud light on the Flow Hub to start flashing. This should take around 2 minutes.
4.Press ‘start set up’ on the home screen of your app.
5.Follow the app’s instructions to connect the Flow Hub to your Wi-Fi network.
6.Your app screen will display a message reading ‘the Flow Hub is online’. Congratulations – you’re all set up!

A guide to your Flow Hub

Your Flow Hub has a home button and three indicator lights.

1.The home button is the white button at the front of the device.
2.The green power light shows whether your Flow Hub is on or off.
3.The yellow cloud light shows whether your Flow Hub’s connected to your Wi-Fi.
4.The red meter light shows you whether your Flow Hub is connected to your smart meter.

Please note: if you’re waiting for a smart meter upgrade, the red meter light will remain flashing until the upgrade has occurred and your network has connected the two devices.

All three of these indicator lights should remain on and solid when you’ve finished setting up your Flow Hub.

You may need to reset your Flow Hub if these lights turn off either during or after set-up, as it means your Flow Hub has been disconnected.

Setting up the Smart Plug

1.Plug your Smart Plug into the wall socket you’ve selected.
2.Switch the wall socket on.
3.Wait for the Smart Plug to connect to your Flow Hub. This should take around thirty seconds.
4.Open the Flow Power app and go to the devices section. From here, you should be able to toggle your Smart Plug on or off.
5.You can check if the Smart Plug’s working by connecting it to a device. If everything’s functional, you’ve completed the set up. Congratulations!

I’ve set up my Flow Hub. Now what?

The ball’s in our court now!

We’ll ask your electricity distributor (i.e. the company that owns the electricity poles and wires near your house) to connect your Flow Hub, so it receives live data about your energy usage.

What should I do if my Flow Hub couldn’t connect to my Wi-Fi/didn’t list my Wi-Fi as a joining option?

You’ll need to restart your Flow Hub and redo the set-up process.

How do I reset my Flow Hub?
  1. Make sure your Flow Hub is close to your phone and your home Wi-Fi router.
  2. Press and hold your Flow Hub’s home button down for six seconds.
  3. The yellow cloud light should begin blinking slowly after a minute.
  4. Press the home button down again for one second.
  5. If the reset has been successful, the yellow cloud light will blink quickly after thirty seconds.
  6. Return to your app home screen and press on the ‘I’ve reset my device button’.

Once you’ve completed the above steps, you should be able to restart set-up.
