General Manager, Flow Power Highway

This General Manager role will lead a newly formed joint venture to develop, construct, and operate an electric-vehicle (EV) fast-charging network. The GM will grow this business into Australia’s premium fast-charging network. This role encompasses end-to-end delivery—from site identification and consenting, through equipment procurement, construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations—while ensuring cost control, contractual compliance, and superior customer experience.
- Develop and execute a multi-year rollout strategy aligned with the JV business plan, with monthly performance reporting and effective corporate governance.
- Coordinate integration of the digital platform through collaboration with the strategic partner and internal digital development resources.
- Work with the project development team to identify priority sites. Oversee tenders & negotiations, vendor selection, through to commissioning and handover to operations.
- Oversee the customer service model, including preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Manage all CAPEX & OPEX budgets, entity P&L, and pricing & financial models.
- Effective partnership management with all participants in the Joint Venture
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical), Business, or related discipline.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification in infrastructure/energy (highly desirable).
- 10 years+ in energy infrastructure or large-scale construction projects, including at least 5 years in senior leadership/GM role.
- Experience in JV or consortium integration. P&L ownership in capital-intensive environment.
- Negotiated and managed complex, multi-party agreements (EPC, equipment supply, digital platforms).
- Experience in the energy industry and/or transport industry.
- Established relationships with EV charging equipment suppliers and energy networks.
- Strategic & Analytical Thinking: translate goals into rollout, financial, and operational plans. Strong financial modeling and cost-benchmarking.
- Project & Operations Management: Expertise in site permitting, grid connection, civil works, equipment installation, commissioning. Proficiency in managing construction, O&M best practices, remote monitoring.
- Commercial Negotiation & Stakeholder Management: Lead negotiations with GIGATONS, Services Providers, site hosts, councils and networks
- Leadership & People Management: Recruit, integrate, lead cross-functional JV teams. Strong communication for Board, executives from shareholders. Change management in dynamic markets.
- Technical & Regulatory Knowledge of the energy, EV charging, fuel retail and transport industries is highly regarded
