Chief Executive Officer

Matthew van der Linden is the Founder and CEO of Flow Power. As CEO, Matthew’s primary drive is to create better energy retail options that help transform the way the Australian market uses electricity. He draws from his deep knowledge and experience in deregulation in Australia and the UK.  

In 2009, Matthew began the energy retailer formerly known as Progressive Green Pty Ltd that became Flow Power in 2017. Matthew has also developed a number of innovative tech-based energy solutions to support his customers’ needs across the National Electricity Market, including the energy management tool kWatch.  

Matthew’s passionate about technology and education’s capability to facilitate change. He focuses on connecting Australian consumers to energy market signals, in order to help them make the right choices for the renewable energy future.

Chief Operating Officer

As COO, Byron leads the technical divisions of the Flow Power business, spanning engineering and advisory, operations, hardware and controls, demand response and energy projects. Delivering innovative solutions for customers and the continued growth of Flow Power’s renewable energy portfolio are among Byron’s key focuses.

Byron has a background in engineering, economics and business, and a wealth of experience in the energy and renewables sector. In his 15 years in the industry, he has worked across Australia, the United Kingdom and the Middle East with global engineering firms, Australian renewable developers and Commonwealth Treasury.

Byron is passionate about the renewable energy transition and the important role that energy users will play in making Australia’s renewable energy future a reality.

Chief Financial Officer

As CFO, Lachlan Jacobson  is focused on value creation and supporting growth so that Flow Power can scale and realise a customer-focused renewable energy future. He leads a team of financial experts who leverage technology to drive data and evidence-based decision making. 
 

Lachlan has a debt finance background and has worked in the Australian energy industry for the last decade. Most recently, he led commercial finance for Tesla’s energy business in APAC, driving growth through the successful execution of clean energy projects like the South Australian VPP. He has a wealth of experience spanning energy and infrastructure project finance, financial planning and analysis, and business development. 
 

General Counsel & Company Secretary 

Jonathan Mitchell leads legal, risk & compliance, policy and shareholder relations at Flow Power. Prior to joining Flow Power in 2019, Jonathan was a Senior Associate at King & Wood Mallesons, specialising in energy, resources and projects.

Jonathan has extensive experience in energy and resources law, with expertise across major projects, joint ventures, acquisitions and divestments, utilities regulation, commercial contracts, corporate restructuring, electricity & gas supply contracts and carbon advisory.

Chief Revenue Officer

As CRO, Jacob leads a team of forty professionals in helping Australian businesses reshape how they manage energy. He’s passionate about providing customers with real energy solutions that give them a competitive advantage, and which allow them to contribute to the renewable energy transition.  

Jacob has over 10 years experience in the energy industry, with expertise in energy consultancy, business development and account management. Prior to this, Jacob worked in energy consultancy firms specialising in tenders and customised energy management solutions for commercial and industrial clients.
