The opportunity

We have an exciting role for a motivated go-getter in our outbound sales team. The Business Development Representative is a hunter for suitable business leads to build a healthy sales pipeline, find suitable customer opportunities, and win that opportunity to connect a prospect to a Business Development Manager so that they can close the sale.

This role is excellent for who’s ready to start the new year driven, with sales incentive bonuses that reward hard and persistent work. It is also a great pathway into deeper sales position, with multiple recent success stories of us cultivating internal talent.

Key responsibilities
  • Qualify leads based on lead criteria and objectives
  • Build and cultivate relationships with leads by initiating communication, following up, and responding to queries with accurate information
  • Thrive in an environment working to incentive targets
  • Maintain and develop an ongoing pipeline of leads
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal departments across Marketing, Pricing and Sales
  • Hunt for new business opportunities, including using smart data collection tools and through industry event
About you

You are driven and ready to challenge yourself. The Renewable Energy industry is an exciting and complex fast-growth industry. While you don’t need experience or knowledge of this space, you do need a hunger to learn the business you’re operating in so that you can achieve good results (and we have a good product – which makes it a lot easier!). Must operate ethically and want to represent a company well, in alignment with their company values.

Skills and Experience
  • No tertiary qualification required but evidence an interest in business and commercial environments
  • Ideally, 1–2 years’ experience in an outbound sales role
  • Strong verbal communication skills, suitable for a phone-based role
  • Strong personal drive and motivation management
  • Must have fundamental technology skills to use customer database and other tools
