Galore Energy Project - Flow Power

Galore Energy Project

Project overview

Flow Power proposes to develop a solar farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Galore, NSW, to provide renewable energy to the local community and NSW grid.

Location
Galore, NSW
Capacity
350 MW solar PV & ~300MW, 2-4 MWh BESS
Project objectives
Deliver clean energy and storage for NSW
Land size
590 ha

About the proposed project

Flow Power has begun preliminary environmental investigations on the site and plans to submit an application for Development Approval to the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure in 2025.

Developing the project will involve the planning, construction and operation of a solar farm and BESS, with an indicative output of 350 MW combined with ~300MW, 2-4 MWh of battery storage.

About the project site

The proposed site is located at 25 Kingston Road, Galore, and is approximately 590 ha.

The project area largely consists of cleared agricultural land, with small patches of remnant vegetation.

Flow Power aims to minimise environmental and heritage impacts to the site through adaptative design. The site will be maintained for mixed agricultural activities, including sheep grazing within the development footprint.

This site is situated on the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people and Flow Power will prepare a Cultural Heritage Management plan for the project.
