In 2023, Flow Power announced its partnership with Pollinate Group with an ambition to help fight energy poverty, empower women, and accelerate access to clean energy in some of the world’s most underserved communities.
Almost three years on, that commitment is translating into real, measurable impact for thousands of families across India and Nepal.
Empowering women as agents of change
At the heart of the partnership is Pollinate Group’s network of women micro-entrepreneurs, known as Suryamukhis, meaning ‘sunflowers’ in Hindi, who bring clean energy solutions directly into their communities. Since our initial announcement, the program has grown significantly.
In FY 2025 alone, 244 new Suryamukhis were onboarded, building a powerful grassroots network of 667 active women entrepreneurs. These women are earning sustainable incomes, while also becoming leaders, educators and role models, showing what’s possible when women are given the tools to succeed.
Through thousands of targeted training sessions, these women have strengthened their business, financial and digital skills, enabling them to run independent enterprises with confidence and resilience.
Expanding access to clean, reliable energy
Access to safe and reliable energy is foundational to wellbeing, and this is where the partnership is delivering meaningful environmental and social returns.
Together with Pollinate Group, Flow Power has helped distribute more than 12,000 clean energy and household products, reaching 24,000 people across India and Nepal. These include solar lights, clean cooking solutions and solar-powered water pumps that replace kerosene, biomass and diesel.
Here’s a snapshot of the impact so far:
- 5.49k tonnes of CO₂e emissions avoided
- Over 101,000 hours saved for households each year, enabling more time for education and income generating activities
- Improved health outcomes through reduced indoor air pollution
- Lower household fuel costs and increased energy security
For families, these solutions mean safer homes, better study conditions for children, and more time and resources to focus on education and building foundations for the future.
This partnership creates impact on multiple levels – every solar light or clean cookstove sold not only reduces emissions but also generates income for women entrepreneurs, helping strengthen local economies.
Recognised impact, shared momentum
The success of Pollinate Group’s initiative has also been recognised globally. In 2025, Pollinate Group received major leadership and impact recognition, including the RADA Award for outstanding leadership in advancing women’s entrepreneurship.
These milestones reinforce the strength of Pollinate Group’s model, and at Flow Power, we’re proud to play a role in enabling it to scale.
Looking ahead
The results since 2023 show what’s possible when purpose-driven organisations collaborate for long-term impact. But this is just the beginning.
As we continue our partnership, the focus remains on scaling clean energy access, empowering more women entrepreneurs, and driving change in the communities that need it most.
