Project Engineer (Electrical Design)
As a Project Engineer specialising in Electrical Design, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping cutting-edge solutions for renewable energy projects, including solar farms, battery installations, and energy efficiency initiatives.
Engineering & Design:
- Support Flow Power’s Projects Team with the electrical design of solar, battery and wind projects.
- Detailed design phase activities, (for example):
- Cable design
- PV string sizing
- Fuse sizing
- General arrangement drawings
- Design and specification of electrical equipment
- Knowledge of control and protection circuits
- CT & VT sizing
- Project manage solar farm and battery projects from development to construction and operation.
- Where required, undertake the feasibility, detailed design and project manage the installation, testing and commissioning of projects for the business including but not limited to
- Manage subcontractors and ensure successful project outcomes within budget and timeline.
Asset Development and Construction:
- Support the Energy Projects team in developing, designing, and constructing Flow Power’s energy projects.
- Operate as a project manager and engineer through project development and delivery for Flow Power or its customers.
- Undertake pre-construction design and technical due diligence activities.
- Manage detailed design, construction phase activities, and establish/improve Flow Power’s O&M and asset management capabilities. Examples include:
- Ensure projects comply with industry standards and safety protocols.
Technical Support & Direction:
- Provide technical support to the broader Flow Power business.
- Research market and technology for new business opportunities.
- Contribute to strategy development and direction.
You have demonstrated a strong background in engineering with a focus on effective project management. You also possess the following skills:
- Possess a deep understanding of construction projects within the energy sector.
- Showcase knowledge of energy project delivery and management for C&I businesses.
- Familiarity with relevant Australian engineering standards.
- Exhibit strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CYMCAP, SKM Power tools, or PowerCAD will be considered favourably.
It’s envisaged that you hold a degree in a related engineering/technical field (e.g., Electrical engineering, renewable, civil engineering).
